Enzo Amore and Champs Sports donated 20 pairs of Jordans and T-shirts to match to members of the Boys & Girls Club of Newark (BGCN).
After picking out the sneakers at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, N.J., The Smacktalker Skywalker went to the BGCN for a Be A Star Common Ground event. He talked with the kids, ages ranging 13 to 18, about making the right decisions and the importance of smiling in the face of adversity.
Enzo encouraged the kids to write down at least one thing they have in common with each other — like going to the same school or enjoying to play basketball. He then asked everyone if they like to wear Jordan sneakers. Everyone jumped out of their seat as two Champs employees brought out 20 bags of sneakers and shirts.
Rodney Fuller, Chief Executive Officer of the BGCN, said the event was meant to reward the children for making the right decisions in their community.
Enzo concluded the Be A Star event by reminding the kids to smile in the face of adversity.
“Your smile can change the world, but the world can’t change your smile,” Enzo said.
