WWE Superstars and Divas take part in a Special Olympics 2014 USA Games Basketball Game in North Carolina. Kofi Kingston and Alicia Fox serve as honorary coaches for the basketball game. Kofi’s team: Destiny Belcher, Gregory Bennett, Clarence Brown, Mario Covarrubia, Tia Critchfield, Matthew Novak, Steve Ridgeway, Zachary Collins-Myrek & Jhamaree Pratt. Alicia’s team: John Chisolm III, Monta “De-mon” Johnson, Patrick Shields, Dezhaun Brown, Kenyon Starling, Robert Gray, Joshua Wilson, Vanya Smith & Dillon Fosner. The basketball game's announcer, Renee Young, signs an autograph for an athlete. WWE is a Founding Partner of the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games. Kofi promises WWE will be at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games to support and cheer on the athletes. The basketball game takes place at Kernodle Middle School in Greensboro, N.C. Kernodle Middle School is a Project UNIFY School. Special Olympics Project UNIFY is an education and sports based strategy powered by an engaged youth community. Project UNIFY increases athletic and leadership opportunities for students with and without intellectual disabilities, while creating communities of acceptance for all. Kofi and Alicia pump up their teams before the big game. Team North Carolina athletes kick off the game. All of these athletes will be representing Team North Carolina at the USA Games. Nearly 300 7th-grade students attend the game. The 2014 USA Games will celebrate the Special Olympics movement, promote the ideals of acceptance and inclusion through sport, and showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
