As part of the Road to WrestleMania 38 Community Champions Showcase, WWE Superstar and Global Ambassador Titus O'Neil and WWE Superstar Liv Morgan took part in a WWE Community Champions Showcase visit at Dallas' Café Momentum to spotlight the work the Café does for the community.
Café Momentum interns Jarrod (16), Demondric (21), Jevon (19), Thalia (16) and Jedarrian led a tour of the Community Service Center, and the Superstars helped the group cook and learn about the resources provided by the organization. The group had lunch together to discuss empowerment and the impact of Café Momentum on the interns' lives. The Superstars also presented the interns tickets to WrestleMania 38 in Dallas.
Café Momentum's mission is to transform young lives by equipping justice-involved young men and women with life skills, education and employment opportunities to help them achieve their full potential. What began as a series of pop-up dinners in 2012 is today one of the most highly-rated casual fine-dining restaurants in downtown Dallas and has worked with more than 1,000 young people.
Through the Café Momentum Internship, Café Momentum serves 150 justice-involved youth each year, but with the six-month closure of the restaurant due to the pandemic — and with it, over one-third of its annual revenue stream — they have found themselves in a heightened need of community support. With the backing of community supporters, Café Momentum gives interns the ability to stop living in crisis mode and start focusing on making the kinds of big changes that translate into different lives.
