WWE and Girl Up hosted a Sports for a Purpose Forum during Royal Rumble Weekend at Phoenix's Chase Field. WWE Superstars Nia Jax and Kofi Kingston, host and WWE Digital Correspondent Cathy Kelley and WWE Ambassador Dana Warrior joined 100 Phoenix-area high school students for the event. Other special guests and panelists included Nona Lee, SVP and Chief Legal Officer, Arizona Diamondbacks; Ali Cohen, Girl Up leader and high school senior at Chandler Preparatory Academy; and Jody Jackson, Arizona sports reporter, Fox Sports. The event focused on the role sports play in the development of young girls.

In partnership with WWE, Girl Up is creating and launching Sports for a Purpose, a new program that will focus on engaging Girl Up leaders in promoting the positive impacts that sports can have on girls globally and how teamwork and team sports help girls to develop self-confidence, discipline, healthy habits and leadership skills. Additionally, the program engages Girl Up leaders to identify solutions to break down barriers girls face to playing sports across the world.
