WWE Global Ambassador Titus O'Neil, WWE Superstar Reggie and WWE announcer Sarah Schrieber hosted a WWE Community Champions Showcase in St. Louis during Royal Rumble Weekend. Each recipent/organization worked tirelessly in the St. Louis area to support the communities who needed the most help during 2021. Each received a custom replica WWE Championship and a $2,500 grant. Honorees included:
Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center
- Founded by Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee, the foundation aims to instill youth in the Greater East St. Louis area with the dream, drive and determination necessary to succeed in academics, athletics and leadership.
- Through work and a commitment to ensuring every youth is given the opportunity to achieve greatness, the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation has grown to become a safe haven and learning-rich environment for area youth. Where the challenges and limitations of one of America’s most notoriously deadly and impoverished cities will never define where a child can go, or who they can become.
Circus Harmony
- Circus Harmony is a non-profit social circus organization that uses circus arts to motivate social change. By inspiring individuals and connecting communities with circus education and entertainment programs, Circus Harmony has a positive impact on the St. Louis area and beyond.
- Circus Harmony programs teach life skills like perseverance, focus and teamwork. Learning circus with others teaches trust, responsibility and cooperation. The organization allows participants to meet and interact with children from different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds than their own.
Urban League
- The mission of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Inc. is to empower African-Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality and civil rights.
- The Urban League advocates for and empowers African-Americans and others in Metropolitan St. Louis by pursuing the following priorities:
- Economic Opportunity: Creating ladders out of poverty through jobs, entrepreneurship and financial responsibility.
- Educational Excellence: Providing access to quality education from pre-kindergarten through college. Creating an Urban League Leadership Academy to provide scholarships and internships for high school and college students.
- Community Empowerment: Providing social safety net to stabilize our neediest families.
- Civil Rights and Advocacy: Obtaining fair and equal treatment in all features of society and government in economics, social, educational and cultural.
PGA Reach
- The Gateway PGA REACH Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 as the philanthropic arm of the Gateway PGA Section. They are an association of over 330 PGA Professionals and 150 Facilities, led by Foundation President and Baseball Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, who work together to improve lives through the community of golf.
- Their pillar initiatives include:
- Diversity: PGA REACH | Beyond 18 keeps North St. Louis kids in school by partnering with and furthering current education initiatives of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, Hope Education, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis and Urban K-Life.
- PGA REACH has been a finalist for the St. Louis Regional Chamber's Arcus Awards: Achievement in Educational Attainment in 2013 and 2014.
- Military: PGA H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) provides golf instruction and play opportunities to disabled Veterans and is a proven mental, social and physical rehabilitation tool.
- Youth: PGA Reach introduces the game of golf to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity through school programs for underprivileged youth, golf and mentoring at Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater St.Louis and Ranken Jordan Children's Pediatric Hospital.
