Connor's Cure: Meet Kelsey

At just 3 years old, Kelsey was experiencing symptoms that her parents were worried about, so she underwent an MRI at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Her family soon learned that she was diagnosed with an optic glioma brain tumor and mosaic neurofibromatosis.

Because of the tumor, Kelsey became legally blind, and normal, daily activities became more difficult for her. Doctors shared the news that Kelsey’s tumor was inoperable and she would most likely have to deal with it for the rest of her life.

Kelsey underwent chemotherapy to help ease the symptoms of the tumor. Over the course of three years, Kelsey spent almost 75 percent of her time going through the chemotherapy treatments. Today, Kelsey is 6 years old and remains in stable condition.

Despite the treatment, Kelsey continues to be one of the happiest children and determined to accomplish anything. Kelsey dreams of one day becoming a WWE Superstar.
