WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon hosted the Special Olympics Connecticut 2018 USA Games Team Connecticut announcement at St. Luke's School in New Canaan, Conn., on Monday, Oct. 16. Stephanie is the Honorary Chairperson of Team Connecticut, lending her support to Connecticut athletes as they train for the 2018 USA Games.
Joining Stephanie at the announcement event were Special Olympics Connecticut representatives and dignitaries, including President and CEO Beau Doherty, as well as Kevin Martinez, ESPN's Vice President of Corporate Citizenship.
Next July at the 2018 USA Games in Seattle, more than 4,000 athletes and coaches representing 51 state programs will compete in 14 Olympic-style team and individual sports, along with the support of tens of thousands of volunteers and spectators. Athletes selected for Team Connecticut won gold or silver medals at the 2017 Summer Games and received endorsements from their coaches and local coordinators.
