SoldierStrong, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing advanced medical technologies to veterans, honored notable supporters, including WWE, at its Annual Awards Gala that took place on Thursday, Nov. 5, at The New York Yacht Club in New York City.
To recognize their work advancing available care to injured veterans, SoldierStrong presented Commitment to Service Awards to Alex Gorsky, CEO of Johnson & Johnson, a former U.S. Army Ranger and current mentor for military veterans transitioning to civilian life, and Elvis Duran, of Z100 radio station’s Elvis Duran & The Morning Show. The Corporate Leadership Award was presented to WWE, and was accepted by Diva Eva Marie.
At the SoldierStrong Annual Awards Gala, Eva Marie honored her father, Lance Corporal Fredric Barry Nelson, who served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam and received his advanced infantry training at Camp Pendleton in California. The "Total Divas" star said her father taught Eva and her brothers to honor their country and place a high emphasis on hard work and determination.
"I'm truly honored to have such an amazing dad to call my hero," Eva Marie said.
